The foundations of a gambler’s favorite Caribbean Stud
Heralded author and gambling phenom David Sklansky has recently claimed that he formulated the casino game Caribbean Stud Poker. Sklansky who is best known for his books dedicated to poker games and betting strategies made the claim on a well known poker discussion board. Caribbean Stud Poker is a game who’s beginnings are mostly unfamiliar. Over the years, there have been umpteen contrasting reports of how the game came into being. Some reports claim it was first offered on Caribbean cruise boats while others state the game was first played in Aruba hotels. However, now it looks as if the game has less tropical roots. According to Skansky he first concocted the game in 1982. When he first invented it he named it casino poker because of the combining of 5 card stud poker and casino gambling formats. However, his version of the game had a few small differences with the current version of the game. In the current game, the croupier exposes just one card and there are progressive jackpots. However, in his variant of the game, two cards are shown and there is no progressive jackpot feature.
